mixed race
Race relations in the United States has always been an issue, ever present is the line of awkwardness. Constantly having to watch what you say, how you act, or even being judged solely on the way you look. Ever present in the country is an automatic animosity towards people of a different race, many times cultured through the hatred views of the parents/guardians. In the United Stated the main cultures that seem to not be able to put aside their ingrained hatred are blacks and whites. It seems that every race views race as a sorta of gang, you need to stick with your gang, talking to the other gang is viewed as a betrayal. These views are then passed down onto subsequent generations, constantly prolonging something that we all hope will end one day. In the last forty years, we have come a long way, integrating schools, and slowly slimming down the bold line that seems to always separate us from one another. Then their are people of mixed races, not knowing which side to be apart of, wondering which one is more like the person they are. The question is, why do they have to chose? Who says that the side they pick defines who they are? Even in the upcoming election, it was reported that allot of black people were not voting for him, because he was not black enough. They were not trustful of him because he had a white mother, how does the color of his mother change the his views and beliefs, shouldn't the population vote for a candidate cause they agree for what they stand for. America is a melting pot, every single one of us has a multitude of different cultures in their background. I know for me I am English, Irish and Ukrainian, and i am immensely proud of all of them. It should not change the way people look at these cultures just because the skin color changes.
